Hollow Carving
Using new Australian designed Hollow Hog we are able to safely carve hollows into living and dead trees.
Unlike the traditional chainsaw carved hollows, the Hollow Hog makes minimal damage to the cambium layer of the tree. This leaves the trees defensive system unharmed and intact allowing for ease of sealing the wound and retaining the hollow.
Hollows can take up to 250 years to form naturally. With recent habitat loss and destruction it is all the more important to take care of our native animals on the Sunshine Coast.
Nest Box Installation
Our team is made up of highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who are passionate about creating habitat for out native animals. While we prefer carving hollows, we understand not every property on the Sunshine Coast have the trees that will bear hollows. That is why we offer nest box installation to allow as much habitat potential as possible.
While some nest boxes are sourced locally we also repurpose timber and create our own natural log hollows.
Rather than full tree removals we can leave the main structural tree frame and carve hollows into the remaining 'stag' tree.

At Hollows for Wildlife, our mission is to work sustainably with landholders of the Sunshine Coast and Gympie to get the most out of their trees.
Unlike most tree lopping companies, who solely produce mulch from the trees they cut. We not only mulch, but we also repurpose most of our timber.
This timber is used to carve hollows into the logs for our feathered and furred friends, to be installed in trees at a later date.
We also provide small milling services and cutting up firewood. We also do provide mulch and can help spread it around your trees.
